WM
& RW Bacon Ltd are:
Lightning protection, lightning conductor engineers
and earthing specialists.
Lightning behaviour has been
a fascination for many years and it was in the 18th century
when Benjamin Franklin discovered that a Lightning strike
could be diverted via a vertically mounted metal rod so as
to substationally reduce the structural damage and people
within.
R.W. Bacon was founded in 1892 and became WM & R.W.Bacon
as a limited company in 1932.
In 1946 the company was part of a small number of other Lightning
Conductor firms that set up a trade association which is now
known as ATLAS (Association of Technical Lightning & Access
Specialists) and it has an enviable reputation for it’s
knowledge in the field of Lightning Protection, Over Voltage
Protection and specialised Earthing installations.
There
are in place both National and International standards specifically
for ascertaining the need for protection, the design, installation
and future testing and inspection and our compliment of designers
and installers are fully conversant with these standards and
the equipment required for completing the work.
